A 19-year-old Springfield man was arrested Monday morning after he allegedly stabbed another man after an argument.

Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Barberry Drive in Springfield, after the victim escaped a vehicle around 2:30am. Authorities learned that the victim and the suspect were passengers in a vehicle when they began arguing. The suspect then hit the victim with a bottle and began stabbing him in the face and chest. The victim got out of the vehicle and fled on foot.

Deputies were able to take the suspect’s street name in the investigation and later found him on Avenue A, where he was arrested.

He was taken to the Calhoun County Jail and held on a assault with intent to murder charge.
