May 26 opens the 70th anniversary season of the Barn Theatre. A benefit titled "70 Years of Magic" will feature cast members ("barnies") from years past along with music and stories and a silent auction to raise funds for the shows and school at 13351 West M-96 in Augusta.

"Avenue Q," an adult puppet show "Sesame Street" parody is the first production opening June 7 and the small-town Texas high school  reunion comedy "Red, White and Tuna" will end the season on September 4 according to the Battle Creek Enquirer.

In between, audiences will go under the sea with "Disney's The Little Mermaid," do the time warp with "The Rocky Horror Show," and meet a shopkeeper who works for Barbara Streisand in "Buyer and Cellar." The classics "Singin' in the Rain," "Guys and Dolls" and "Jesus Christ Superstar" will also hit the boards at the Barn.
