Battle Creek Apartment Complex Catches Fire Wednesday Morning

A fire at an apartment complex in Battle Creek has caused extensive damage.

Fire crews responded to the complex in the 100 block of Hopkins Street, around 9am Wednesday.  At the scene, they found the building heavily involved in flames.  People were inside the building at the time, but emergency crews were able to get everyone out.

The extent of injuries, if there are any, is not currently known.

The fire appears to be under control, but crews are expected to be on the scene throughout the day to fully put out the fire.  What exactly sparked the blaze is under investigation.
