A crash involving two vehicles near Battle Creek Sunday afternoon left four people injured. It happened around 2:30 in the 6000 block of M-66 south of ‘K” Drive South in Leroy Township.

Michigan State Police told the Battle Creek Enquirer that three people in an SUV were injured along with one man who was in a sedan. It took responders almost an hour to free one of the passengers in the SUV. A woman and a young girl were also injured in that vehicle. All four were alert and conscious at the scene. Investigations at the scene indicated that the sedan was headed northbound and crossed the center line, before colliding head-on with the other vehicle.

M-66 was closed to all traffic between K Drive South and L Drive South while crews were working to clear the scene.

Although investigators know most details related to the cause, it does remain under investigation.
