A Battle Creek man was arrested Sunday night after he allegedly stabbed his girlfriend during an argument.

The Battle Creek Police Department says that officers were called to the 1100 block of Lakeside Dr. around 9pm Sunday, and found a 33-year-old woman with stab wounds to her upper back. Investigators determined that the victim and her 57-year-old boyfriend had been arguing, when the man allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed her two to three times.

The woman was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A K-9 track was conducted to find the suspect, and he was eventually found in the area of Capital Ave. SW and Golden Ave. and arrested. He’s now in jail, awaiting charges of assault with intent to murder.
