Battle Creek Mayor Dave Walters election to the city's top commissioner post, this year, went as smoothly as last, with a unanimous vote among his peers. Two years ago, he relented to former mayor and current Commissioner Deb Owens, and changed his vote in order to tilt the votes in her favor.

Talking to Mayor Walters now, it is almost as though such dissension never existed, as he tells WBCK commissioners have worked well together in the last year - more unified.

Without saying so, it is presumed the departure of Commissioner Jeff Domenico allowed the dust to settle over the last year.

Walters talked about some concerns and successes from the last year, as well as some things he is focused on in 2017. Click the player below to hear his remarks.
