Battle Creek NAACP Demands Apology After Racial Message Is Broadcast In Kohl’s
The president of the Battle Creek NAACP is demanding a formal apology from Kohl’s, after someone allegedly broadcast the "N-Word" over the store's public address system.
Dillon Davis reports in the Battle Creek Enquirer that the incident happened on August 5, after a customer picked up the public address system and repeatedly said "Attention all Kohl’s shoppers: Our special for this evening is buy one nigger and get the second nigger free.”
Reportedly, a store employee witnessed this and did not attempt to stop it, and Kohl’s PA system does not require a password to access.
NAACP Branch President Carey Whitfield is asking for a formal apology from Kohl’s corporate, and says that he is prepared to go to the national office and request a protest of Kohl’s if an apology is not made.
