Battle Creek Police Introduce K-9 Felix, Newest Member Of Their Force
The Battle Creek Police Department announced the newest member of their force on Monday morning.
After the sudden passing of K-9 Rushin, we are happy to introduce you to the newest member of the BCPD family! K-9 Felix (named after retired Lt. Felix) is an 18 month old german shepherd/dutch shepherd mix from Europe. K-9 Felix is shown here with his handler Cpl. Bailey. By the looks on their faces, it looks like the perfect pairing!
Just over a month ago, the Battle Creek Police Department made the sad announcement of the sudden passing of K-9 Rushin. K-9 Rushin was 9 years old and was diagnosed with a medical condition, passing days later at his home surrounded by his family. K-9 Rushin had started with the department in 2013 and was Cpl. Bailey's first K-9.
During his time with BCPD, he successfully tracked one homicide suspect, two attempted murder suspects, and three barricaded gunmen (including one that shot at one of BCPD's officers).
Congratulations to K-9 Felix on his new position and to CPL. Bailey on his new partner.
