Battle Creek authorities are investigating arson, after a pick-up truck caught fire over the weekend.

The Battle Creek Enquirer reports that around 11:30pm Sunday, Battle Creek Police Officers were called to the area of Buckner Rd. to find the truck with fire damage inside; investigators believe that the fire was started in the driver’s seat, and failed in completely burning the vehicle because it ran out of oxygen.

The truck, a 2014 Toyota Tundra, was found with no keys, and damage to the ignition. Authorities contacted the registered owner in Springfield, and discovered that the truck had been taken without his permission, while he was away from home.

The incident remains under investigation, and if you have any information please contact police or Silent Observer.
