Curbside Yard Waste Collection In Battle Creek Ends Friday

The city of Battle Creek is reminding residents that curbside yard waste collection will be ending for the winter season this Friday. Due to the recent snowfall and arrival of winter weather, the city will not extend yard waste service this year. Yard waste collection will begin again in late March.

For those who still have leaves or other yard waste items for disposal, the city’s compost site Brice Pit is an option. It is located at 715 W. River Road, and is open 7:30 am to 7:00 pm Monday through Friday. It is also open on Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Saturday. That location is closed on Sundays.

The city also asks residents to please keep leaves and other lawn debris out of the streets, as they can run into and clog storm drains causing problems.
