The Cereal City loses its only place for tandoori chicken and naan as A Taste of India will lock the doors on its restaurant- but, there is some good news.

A Taste of India restaurant, at 215 W. Michigan in downtown Battle Creek opened in March of 2012 but it will not see June of 2018. The family-owned restaurant, well loved for their 25 item lunch buffet will close the doors on the brick and mortar building but continue to offer their exotic flavors of authentic Indian cuisine from a food truck.

No definite reason has been given for the decision to scale back operations but the Battle Creek Enquirer speculates that Kellogg layoffs have had an impact on the downtown eatery within walking distance of HQ for "the Big Red K."

Facebook entrepreneurs suggest the business could be a success at another location and many say they will miss the tasty lunch buffet as Battle Creek's only option for Indian food closes.
