Battle Creek’s Firekeepers Casino Makes A Big Holiday Donation
FireKeepers Casino Hotel is donating 2,500 hundred turkeys to five area food banks, as well as The Kendall Street Pantry in Battle Creek. It’s the 10th consecutive year, FireKeepers is making a donation like this prior to the start of the holiday season.
The Food Bank of South Central Michigan in Battle Creek is receiving 15-hundred turkeys out of that donation with four additional regional food programs in Ann Arbor, Greater Grand Rapids, Lansing, and Fort Wayne, Indiana, and receiving the balance.
The Kendall Street Pantry in Battle Creek will receive a donation of 200 turkeys the middle of next month to prepare for donations during the Christmas period. The pantry is part of The Fire Hub Restaurant, built and operated by a non-profit division of Firekeepers. The majority of the profits generated from there are contributed to local charities.
