After the Bearcats had won their first meeting earlier this season at Harper Creek, the Beavers were looking to even the score.  However, behind Mafiaion Joyner’s 21 points, Battle Creek Central made it a clean sweep with a 66-60 win over SMAC-East rival Harper Creek.  While the Beavers out-shot the Bearcats from the free throw line, 78% to 50%, it was shooting three-pointers that helped BC Central secure the win.  The Bearcats were eight of 24 from outside the arc compared to the Beavers two of 16.  In addition to Joyner, Curtis Trigg finished the night with 12-points and Mohammed Albagami delivered 10-points for the Bearcats.  James Cadena (21-points), Brandon Hudson (14-points) and Khylen Watkins (13-points) led the Beavers’ scoring.  Battle Creek Central improves to 13-and-2 while Harper Creek drops to 10-and-3 on the season.

Earlier in the evening, it was Harper Creek defeating Battle Creek Central 50-30 in girls’ varsity basketball action.
