The 3rd annual Calhoun County Area Armed Forces Appreciation Day is Sunday, 1pm, at Kellogg Auditorium in Battle Creek.  The program is being done to recognize the great sacrifice made by the men, women, and families who have chosen a military path to serve our nation.   Several military and community leaders were on the 95.3 WBCK Morning Show with Tim Collins to highlight the program and offer a heartfelt invitation to the entire Calhoun County community.

Pennfield Township Supervisor Dave Morgan, an Air Force veteran, is the director of the program.  He says the community will also acknowledge about four dozen area high school grads who will be going into the military, and also acknowledged the involvement of area schools.  Gen. Robert Secrist also noted that ten area students will be going into military academies.

The program Sunday will probably last an hour and a half, and culminate with a flyover by the "Hooligans Flight Team".   Col. Frank Walker will serve as Master of Ceremonies.  The Cereal City Concert Band will perform, and the featured speaker will be Chief Master Sergeant Richard Gordon, US Air Force.
