A man and his young son were hurt Wednesday after their Off-Road Vehicle rolled over in Calhoun County.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says that their deputies were called to D Drive South near 23 Mile Rd. in Eckford Township around 4:50pm Wednesday; there, they found a Polaris Ranger ORV that had been driving westbound down D Drive South when the driver lost control and entered a ditch; both of the occupants, the 35-year-old driver from Albion and his 4-year-old son, had been wearing seatbelts.

The driver was taken to the Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall with non-life threatening injuries, while the boy was treated and released with minor bruising.

The Sheriff’s Office says that right now, alcohol does not appear to have been a factor, but they think speed and “an unsafe driving strategy” were involved.

The CCSO was helped at the scene by the Marengo Township Fire Department, Marshall Area Ambulance, and Zick's Towing.
