The heatwave which has been plaguing lower Michigan for the past few days is forcing Battle Creek Public Schools to transition to a half-day schedule beginning Thursday, August 26th and Friday the 27th.
Utility crews are still hard at work in Michigan getting customers reconnected to power lines following the devastating storms of last week. One of the areas literally devastated by the storms is the rural area around the Village of Reading in Hillsdale County.
Overnight, another 20,000 or so were back on the Consumers Energy grid, leaving about 28,000 remaining without service. That’s a long haul considering the first power outages began Late last Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
