To further the effort to educate students on food, health, and nutrition, a popular chef will be stopping by a middle school in Battle Creek.

The Battle Creek Public Schools say that on April 25, Celebrity Chef Jet Tila will "present his culinary talents" for students and families at Springfield Middle School. The BCPS and their food service provider, Charwells K12 Dining Services, partnered with Chef Jet for the "Modern Asian menu event" during lunch.

Chef Jet will present a demonstration of favorite dishes, along with "unique school cafe specific recipes", and students will be able to take home recipes and take part in a meet and greet with the Chef; they'll even have the chance to take a selfie with him.

BCPS Communications Manager Nathan Hunt calls the event an "exciting way to engage and inspire our students while giving them some tangible skills to take home", as cooking shows and competitions remain a popular form of entertainment.

Jet Tila is "nationally recognized for his culinary expertise in Modern Asian Cuisine". He's made several appearances on shows including Cutthroat Kitchen, Guy's Grocery Games, Chopped, and Iron Chef America.
