2016 Battle Creek Cereal Festival In Full Swing

The Battle Creek Cereal Festival is in full swing in downtown Battle Creek.

The Grand Cereal Parade was held Friday evening, attracting crowds along the city streets.

The World’s Longest Breakfast Table will begin bright and early at 8 AM, Saturday morning, and last until noon.

The Cereal City Classic 5k/10K Walk/Run will also be taking place, beginning at 8:30 AM, Saturday morning. The starting line for the run will be at the Battle Creek YMCA, located at 182 Capital Avenue Northeast.

Organizers are asking drivers to be alert for runners and bike leaders during the run/walk.

According to the Battle Creek Enquirer, the following roads and parking lots will be closed until approximately 2 PM, in the downtown area:

• Michigan from Washington to McCamly
• Gould, including the Kool Family Community Center and nearby parking lots
• Carlyle
• Jackson parking lot
• Access to the Michigan parking ramp will be from McCamly Street

Saturday, in downtown Battle Creek, should prove to be a great way to begin the summer with some free family fun!
