This might just be the something different you're looking for in a Father's Day gift. Cornwell's Turkeyville in Marshall is home to a Civil War reenactment this Saturday and Sunday, June 15th and 16th. There will be battles three times during the weekend. And, of course, it will be history version of Turn Back the Clock day, with "citizens" in costumes. A dressmaker will dress make and the undertaker will undertake you'll see what peoples days were like 150 years ago. The blacksmith will be working all weekend creating useful items used by the town’s people and the military.

The reenactment schedule for this Fathers Day weekend at Cornewell's for June 15-16th.:

Saturday’s battle will re-enact the Battle of Bull’s Gap beginning at 10:00 am. Saturday evening the military troops will engage in tactile exercises on the battlefield narrated by a member of the military...Viewers are encouraged to bring a lawn chair, or use the straw bales near the battlefield for more comfortable viewing. Saturday events also include a Military Funeral and Ceremony, a tea where you will learn how the civilians dressed and why, and kids games.
