Overall, Calhoun County Clerk Anne Norlander is pleased with the functioning of election processes locally last Tuesday, Michigan's presidential primary day.

Norlander tells WBCK that, like a lot of places in Michigan Tuesday, turnout was better and young voters participated in better numbers. She called Calhoun County a bellwether, which certainly was the case Tuesday. Calhoun County voters chose Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders more often, putting them at the top of primary voting in the county. That is consistent with results statewide.
