A man fleeing a traffic stop in Battle Creek led to drugs being discovered.

The Battle Creek Enquirer reports that around 2:30am Sunday, Calhoun County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a rented car in the area of Greenwood Ave. and Hubbard St. The driver fled on foot, and a K-9 unit was brought in to track him down.

The Detroit man was arrested, and the track also turned up several items in an open garage along Parkway Dr; a handgun and laser sight, ammunition, marijuana, methamphetamine and scales were found, with more marijuana found in the suspect’s car.

The man is expected to face multiple drug and weapons charges.
