Do your children belong to you or all of us?

Last year an extreme liberal with her own show on MSNBC Melissa Harris-Perry (professor at Tulane University) stated the following "we have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents or kids belong to their families, and recognize that kids belong to their communities."

Now we have the extreme liberal think tank the Center for American Progress (CAP), which recently made the statement “the children belong to all of us.

What is going on in the Democrat party?

Why do they think our children do not belong to us?

What is the Democrat party trying to accomplish with this train of thought?
