A bill to allow drinking and biking between one pedal pub and another has passed the Michigan Senate, according to State Senator Wayne Schmidt's website.

The legislation wouldn’t allow people to buy beer from a pedal pub company, but it would allow them to buy a beer at one stop and drink it while on the way to the next one.

The measure includes a zero tolerance policy for the driver and requires owners of pedal pubs to purchase injury and damage liability insurance.

The bill now goes to the Michigan House for consideration.
