A Portage man that was the driver of a vehicle that led authorities on a high-speed chase and shootout was sentenced Monday from those charges.

Aaron Pelletier will spend a mandatory two-year sentence for a felony firearm charge and an extra 14-day sentence for 3rd-degree fleeing and eluding. While he was acquitted of carrying a concealed weapon, he was found guilty on the other two charges in March.

Investigators say that Pelletier was the driver of the car on May 14, 2015 that led several officers on a chase from Galesburg to Portage. Authorities were seeking to arrest his brother Sean, who was the only passenger, on warrants. Sean Pelletier was killed by authorities after he fired an AK-47 assault rifle at them.
