A series of meetings will take place across Michigan next month to help inform people who might want to open up a recreational marijuana business.

The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs' Marijuana Regulatory Agency says on Wednesday that these educational sessions are designed to help potential license applicants become familiar with the online application process.

The MRA says employees will be at the sessions to "demonstrate the online application process to prospective applicants seeking to obtain a marijuana establishment license under the Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marihuana Act." Michigan voters in November 2018 approved a ballot proposal to legalize pot for personal use, as well as to allow recreational pot businesses to set up shop.

Five of these education sessions will take place in September, to get potential applicants familiar with the process when they become available online on November 1.
