A joint U.S.-Canadian agency say untreated sewage releases, chemical pollution and algae blooms are all signs that the two nations have a long way to, to meet their pledge to clean up the Great Lakes. According to the Associated Press, The International Joint Commission released its first progress report since the two countries approved an updated version of the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement in 2012. They say that while both nations have been making progress in their efforts to clean up toxic pollution, they still fell short in several areas.
