Both Battle Creek City Commissioners Dave Walters and Mike Sherzer spoke frankly Thursday on WBCK's Richard Piet Show about the past year in city government, as well as the next one. Battle Creek voters will elect a new commission this coming Tuesday.

Looking back, Walters said he felt he could have been more supportive of city administration, new City Manager Rebecca Fleury and others. He also felt the year was effective, but could have been more so were it not for "distractions" commissioners dealt with, referring to the ethics complaint against Commissioner Jeff Domenico.

Appearing on the program following Walters in WBCK's series of commissioner interviews this week, Sherzer spoke plainly about perceived ways he could help the city accomplish more goals, but admitted that, in his view, early terms for commissioners are often learning curves.

Hear The Richard Piet Show weekday mornings from 5:30-9 on WBCK.
