Additional Information

Kalamazoo State Theatre welcomes gritty country-roots rockers, Turnpike Troubadours, Sunday, November 4th.

Turnpike Troubadours at their best synthesize the populist, political folk of Woody Guthrie and the outlaw-styled honky tonk of Waylon Jennings with doses of bluegrass, Cajun and straight-out rock dynamics. For fans of roots-style American country music, Turnpike Troubadours are both accessible and easy to consume with clever, touching lyrics that celebrate ordinary people and avoid today’s Nashville lyrical worship of beer-drinking, big trucks and partying.

Joining Turnpike Troubadours is fellow southerner, Charley Crockett. Crockett blends honky tonk tunes in an alternative music fashion, much in the way Hank Williams was ahead of the curve in bringing a new sound to the classics.

Join us for a night of outlaw country and true honky tonk, Sunday, November 4th with Turnpike Troubadours and Charley Crockett.
