There are many myths floating around social media about last night's tragedy in Kalamazoo Saturday night. Let's separate the facts from the myths.

First of all, our hearts go out to the victims and their families following this senseless act of violence.  I can't imagine the pain and grief they must be going through right now.

Lots of facts and myths have been floating around the internet since late Saturday Night.

Sunday morning, Kalamazoo County Prosecuting Attorney Jeff Getting, put one major myth to rest.  The suspect, Jason Brian Dalton, was NOT a terrorist.  A few reports on the internet claimed Muslim and terrorist ties.  That is simply not true.  Dalton acted alone and chose his victims at random.

The shooting took place in 3 separate locations.  Around 6 p.m. the first shooting took place at Meadows Townhomes in Richland Township.  Followed by a shooting at the Seelye Dealership on Stadium Drive.  The final random act of violence took place at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant on the 9th Street just off of I-94.

MLive.com put together a very clear timeline following Getting's press conference.  You can read that by clicking here.

The suspect was an Uber driver and was allegedly taking fares between shootings.   In fact, less than hour before the shootings someone posted a warning on Facebook about a dangerous Uber driver and shared a picture of Brian Dalton.  The Facebook post goes on to say the Uber driver was driving erratically, sideswiped a car and blew through stop signs.  The passenger begged the driver to stop and let him out.  The driver refused.  Eventually, the vehicle slowed enough for the passenger to jump out.
