The City of Battle Creek is conducting their annual fall cleanup week next week, for City of Battle Creek residents only.

In a release, the City says that from September 19 to 23, residents can put up to 10 cubic yards of construction waste on the curb, on their normal trash pickup day for no extra charge.

The City says that all materials must be contained, or bundled into four-foot lengths and tied securely.  Hazardous Waste and treated lumber will not be accepted.

More waste disposal guidelines regarding the fall cleanup:

  • When disposing of a mattress, Waste Management requires that it be wrapped in plastic before being placed at the curb. This ensures safety for all waste haulers.

  • Waste Management does not accept household hazardous waste, liquid wastes, concrete, bricks and/or soil. Please refer to the county website for more information on disposal of these items (calhouncountyrecycling.com).

  • When disposing of glass panels, like from a door or window, please pre-smash the glass, place it inside another container, and label it as glass, for the safety of our waste haulers.
