A Battle Creek home at 26 North 32nd Street was heavily damaged after an explosion blew the front door into the front yard.   City fire crews responded shortly before noon today (Wednesday).   They found the 1 1/2 story single-family home burning rapidly.

Firemen made an aggressive attack and searched the home, putting out the fire around 1:30.  There were no injuries.  The department notified the Red Cross to help the displaced occupants, and called Semco Energy and Consumers Energy.  The investigation continues.  The home was heavily damaged throughout.
