Crews have been out working to improve road conditions overnight, with roads ranging from salted and wet to snow-covered and slippery in some areas.

Although snowfall totals were not great, the first wintry blast of the season left numerous accidents and snarls on area roads during both commutes on Thursday, and has the potential for similar results today. The National Weather Service is calling for more snow showers today, with possible light accumulations in the Battle Creek area and heavier accumulations in the counties to the west of Calhoun.

Battle Creek Police ask motorists to slow down, give themselves extra time to reach their destinations, as well as put extra space between you can the car ahead.
