A dangerous crash in Galesburg sent one person to the hospital Sunday and left a pick-up truck upside down at a busy five-way intersection in the heart of the village.

Speaking to WWMT, Kalamazoo County Undersheriff James VanDyken said two cars collided on West Michigan Avenue near M-96. One person reportedly needed medical treatment and was taken to an area hospital. They were said to have suffered only minor injuries in the accident and later released.

There are no details at this time about what may have caused the crash or how many people were involved. Photos obtained from the scene show a white pick-up truck that had flipped upside down and a sedan-style vehicle with heavy damage to its passenger side nearby.

Traffic had to be diverted for some time and the road was shut down while police and emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
