Monday was a busy day for Grand Rapids firefighters as they battled 5 different fires on the northwest side of GR. Firefighters say these fires are suspicious.

According to WOOD, the Grand Rapids Professional Firefighters Local 366 said the time of the fires were between 1:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Four garages, four vehicles and one motorcycle were damaged in the fires. Firefighters also had to battle two trash fires in that same time frame as well.

Firefighters say that two of the fires were just a few blocks from each other. One of the early fires that happened in the 1000 block of Power Avenue NW wound up burning down two garages and vehicle before fire crews even arrived on the scene.

Another fire went down in the 900 block of Tamarack Avenue NW. In this fire another vehicle was damaged and two more garages were engulfed in flames.

Firefighters say that its still too early to connect the fires but still under investigation and to see if there is a connection. No word if anyone was injured during any of the fires.

If you or anyone you know has any info regarding these fires, please reach out to the Grand Rapids Police Department at 6167-456-3400.
