The hottest ticket in show business the past few years has been "Hamilton". The national touring company will perform "Hamilton" for a month beginning in January of 2020, in Grand Rapids at Devos Performance Hall. (The show will be in Detroit next month and in East Lansing in May. Kalamazoo is not currently on the Hamilton website schedule.)

This musical has made the man who wrote the words and music, Lin-Manuel Miranda into a major star, who along with Leslie Odom, Jr. became the breakout stars. The musical has also garnered a fair amount of hardware, winning Tony Awards and more.

Incorporating hip hop, R&B, pop, soul, traditional-style show tunes, and color-conscious casting of non-white actors as the Founding Fathers and other historical figures, the musical achieved both critical acclaim and box office success.- wikipedia

The ticket situation is typical. Broadway Grand Rapids would like you to buy a season subscription for the 2019-20 season; that guarantees you a ticket. If you just want tickets to "Hamilton", you'll have to take you chances when tickets go on sale. That information has not been announced yet. However the entire run in Detroit sold out in minutes.

The show will be in Grand Rapids for three weeks beginning on January 21st, with performances Tuesday through Sunday each of the three weeks.
