Battle Creek’s Heritage Tower Remodeling Continues
Work on downtown Battle Creek’s Heritage Tower continues to progress.
The Battle Creek Enquirer says that last week, work to replace roofing on the 20-story building began, work made possible thanks to an almost half-million dollar loan from the Battle Creek Community Foundation. This reroofing project is expected to take around six weeks, and constitutes a major step in the $34 million redevelopment.
The Heritage Tower was constructed in 1931, and has now sat vacant for over a decade; the goal of this project is to turn the building into a mixed use space for retail and residential units, with a completion expected sometime in spring 2019.
