A mid-march storm brought excessive winds to much of lower Michigan on March 16, 2016. One of the most striking examples of damage was this van crushed by down trees in Battle Creek.

The incident occurred southwest of the city's downtown along Helmer Road near Gethings. According to the City of Battle Creek, that shared the photo on their Facebook page.

According to the National Weather Service's Daily Climate Report for Battle Creek, the city saw west winds that reached speeds up to 44 miles per hour with gusts to 56 mph.
