Hunt: Battle Creek Needs More Commitment To Advance The Community

The BC Vision Steering Committee's recent open meeting was, in part, meant to help stimulate interest and participation from residents. Steering Committee member and Battle Creek Community Foundation CEO Brenda Hunt told WBCK an application process now exists, meant to invite new blood to join the committee.

When asked about a wave of pessimism, how ever week or strong, among some in the community over the BC Vision initiative, Hunt encouraged greater participation.

"If you're going to be pessimistic about it, that's fine with me - I just want to know what else you're doing in the community to make it prosperous," Hunt said. "Maybe you're raising your family and doing the very best you can...that's a great start," she added, but encourages folks to volunteer or put their ideas to work to advance the community.
