A section of Interstate 75 in downtown Detroit has reopened nearly a week after a tanker truck exploded and caught fire last Sunday.

The state Transportation department says traffic was allowed Saturday morning back on the northbound I-75 ramp at I-375. The 36-year-old driver of the tanker was cited for careless driving. The truck was carrying 9,000 gallons of unleaded fuel when it exploded Sunday morning. The truck driver was not hurt.
