Republican presidential candidate, Senator Marco Rubio, believes people who immigrated to the United States illegally but have not committed any major crimes should be allowed to stay in the United States.

What is considered a “major crime”, his reply was, a felony.

Do you think an illegal immigrant should be allowed to stay?

Can we and should we really deport millions of people?

It is a very hard question, because they did break the law but most did so to improve their lot in life and help their families.

Wouldn’t you do the same thing if you were in their situation?

How about we make them pay monetary penalties and stipulate they are never allowed to become citizens is that fair?

I believe that could be fair, we will then see if the Democrats are really concerned about them as people or them as voters.

Senator Rubio was on NBC’s Meet the Press and was asked if he was still for finding a way for illegal immigrants to legally stay in the United States?

He is quoted in an article in Politico answering the above question this way:

“If you’re a criminal alien, no, you can’t stay. If you’re someone that hasn’t been here for a very long time, you can’t stay, I don’t think you’re gonna round up and deport 12 million people.”

He went on to say:

“If circumstances change or you learn something along the way, it’s reasonable to say, ‘Maybe a different approach will work better.  So, for example, on immigration it is clear no comprehensive solution to immigration is going to pass.”

What are your thoughts about this?

Let’s talk about it tomorrow (Monday) on my program The Live with Renk show, airs Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to noon, to let me know your thoughts at (269) 441-9595.
