What comes as no shocker to anyone living in Michigan, Ann Arbor tops the list as the number 1 city in the entire country when it comes to quality of living. The college town of the University of Michigan has long been considered one of the best in the Mitten state. Here is what the US World and New Report said about Ann Arbor:

Ann Arbor is a city of contrasts. It is at once rural and urban, sporty and smart, outdoorsy and high-tech, counterculture and high society. It is best known as the home of the University of Michigan, and locals here enjoy all the trappings of a stereotypical Midwestern college town: a charming, historic main street lined with bookstores, gift shops and taverns; a healthy mix of longtime residents and shorter-term passers-through; and plentiful cultural destinations and events. The one observation I had from the full list as that most of these cities are college towns which may or may not be factoring into the results. Nonetheless, not only is the University of Michigan one of the best in the world, but the city surrounding it is as well.
