Cass County Zoo: Michigan Police Seize 220 Animals From Home
I am just as much of an animal lover as the next person but there has to be limits to everything. I am one of the people who will stop to try and catch a loose dog or cat that's in the road or I will swerve/stop to avoid hitting an animal in the road. There's no reason to hurt an animal unless it is causing or creating danger to yourself or loved ones.

Owning a pet is an experience that I think almost everyone should have considering its unconditional endless love and companionship. For the most part, people are reasonable about the pets they choose to have, you know, the regular household pets like cats, dogs, birds, and fish. Every once in a while, you come across someone who has an exotic pet like a goat, monkey, snake, or other wild animal.
Hundreds Of Animals Seized From Michigan Home By Police
Michigan is one of the many states that has made it clear that you can't just have any animal as a pet and there will be consequences if you're found to have illegal animals in your possession. This has kept many people from trying to domesticate wild animals as pets, but some people don't always follow the rules.
This person in Southwest Michigan found out the hard way when they had their animals seized by animal control. On Wednesday, May 14th, Cass County Animal Control conducted a search warrant at a home in the 2500 block of Lilac Ave. in Cass County’s Howard Township. Upon arriving, they were shocked to find the situation they were walking into.
The residence was home to well over 150 animals which has now gotten the police involved. Animal control and the police would seize dogs, ducks, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, doves, frogs, gerbils, fish, a crawfish and a snapping turtle. This would come out to be a total of 220 animals and while the investigation is ongoing the suspect’s name is being withheld pending charges.
The animals were taken to a safe and secure location where they were given any medical treatment and care they may have needed.
