Backyard of Kalamazoo Launch Event To Be Recognized As Official Event Center in Michigan
The Backyard of Kalamazoo has been in the headlines over the past few months when news came out back in February that Texas Township of Kalamazoo reached out to the owners and instructed them that they needed to submit a "Special Exception Use" if they wanted to become an event center and host events.
Originally they were told this needed to be submitted by late January, but were given an extension until the new date for review will be March 26, 2024, to seek council to assist in the process. Now, this fun place to hold an event is asking its supporters to help it become a recognized Event Center.
In a recent post, they announced they'll be hosting an event in the hopes it can draw support to be recognized as an event center by the city, and allow them to continue to grow their business:
The date has been set and we are begging everyone to come and support us!! We would be so incredibly grateful for your support in helping us to become an event center on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024. We aren’t asking for any modifications to our approved hours of operation or noise requirements. We are just hoping to be allowed to host the community events we have always wanted to. We cannot thank you enough for all of your support
The Backyard of Kalamazoo is located at 10441 Stadium Drive in Kalamazoo and the event is scheduled to start at 6 PM, according to the event page. More details will be released closer to the event.
