Normally, when spring returns in Michigan, not uncommon that we will get dangerous weather to start off the warm seasons. This is why you see more tornadoes happening between March April, and June then you see between July, August, and September.
But Michigan is quickly becoming part of tornado alley, which means our historical weather patterns may start to get thrown off. June has always been known as the worst month for tornadoes in Michigan, but should we have to worry about July being a particularly bad month for weather, considering how mild June was?

Tornado activity peaks in June here in Southeast Michigan. Most tornadoes occur between April and August. However, tornadoes have been recorded in every month but January and December.

It's hard to say whether or not, because June was such a mild month for tornadoes, if July will end up being a worse month. As of May 22, we have had 27 tornadoes touch down in Michigan, and although we've had a busy start to the year, there's no telling whether or not the back half of summer could bring dangerous weather.
