Veteran’s Suicide Led To Michigan Restaurant To Host Upcoming Hot Dog Eating Contest
Veteran suicide rates in the United States are a statistic we are always trying to find ways to lessen. Every year, we lose way too many of our loved ones who have seen active combat and aren't being provided with the help they need.
On November 16, Michiganders Windycity will be partnering up with Gryphon place to raise money for suicide awareness. If you’d like to sign up for our hot dog eating contest, please use the Link or QR code below. We also have a sign up sheet located at the counter of the restaurant! The contests will begin at 1 PM on Saturday and will be held back to back depending on how many people sign up. More information can be found on the sign up form.
The entire reason this idea was thought of was because this issue came way too close to home for someone connected to Windycity Dawghouse, as they told me in a personal message:
The reason we wanted to raise money for this cause, is because our GM, lost a very close friend of hers to suicide in 2018 and it deeply affected her. Our goal is to help prevent and spread awareness on suicide. With the holiday season approaching, we’d also like to help offer support to those who have lost a loved one to suicide.
If you're interested in signing up for the hot dog eating contest, the entrance fee will be $20, and you can click this link and sign up.
