The holidays can be a particularly hard time of the year full of businesses, which is why we always stress to support local businesses around Christmas time. But sometimes the holidays are a time of reflection for local business owners when they realize it’s time that they move on and enjoy retirement.

That’s exactly what the owners at Rico‘s Café & Pizzeria in Traverse City have decided, after announcing that after nearly 3 decades of service, they would be handing the business off.

In a recent Facebook post, the owners explained their actions and future plans.
After 29 years of serving our local community and beyond we have decided it is time to look forward to retirement and moving on to future adventures. While we are continuing (YES WE ARE STILL OPEN) to serve our incredible guests, we are actively reaching out to our local community in hopes of connecting with a buyer for our successful restaurant.
They also took the time out to thank all the customers who have made them successful for nearly 30 years, and urge someone in the community to keep the legacy going:
We are incredibly fortunate to continue to have staff that have been with us for years and loyal year round customers that have been with us even longer! We would love nothing more than to find a buyer who will continue to serve our community with the success that Rico's Cafe has offered for almost 29 years
