Fox News In Michigan Lays Off Staff & Shut Down Their Sports Department

It’s a difficult time to be in the media right now. In Radio, we are seeing more layoffs, which lead to people having to take on more responsibility, most of the time without any compensation. In television, it’s not too different, but with E W Scripps Co. stock continuing to plummet, they coincidentally have had to lay some people off, which include hundreds of employees from different television stations around the country.

In the comment section of his post, Zach alluded to shares at E W Scripps Co. being down to $1.52 a share. This could be a major reason we are seeing so many layoffs.

Media seems to be thriving for the people who are at the top of the pecking order, while those who are doing the tough work are constantly getting boned and taken advantage of until they're deemed as no longer valuable. Hopefully, no further layoffs will continue.
