One of the biggest traditions, especially on Thanksgiving is the celebration of the Christmas season and watching America’s Thanksgiving parade in downtown Detroit.

The tradition goes back 100 years, and every year there are amazing floats and inflatables that march down Woodward Avenue to the sounds of Motown. It became so popular that eventually, a portion of the parade was starting to be broadcast nationally, so people in other areas of the country could see just how magnificent the parade was.

Recently USA Today 10 Best recognized that there’s something a little bit more special about Detroit’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, ranking it the number one holiday parade in the entire country. In regards to the parade, they said the following:

Detroit has been hosting America’s Thanksgiving Parade, presented by Gardner White, since 1924. Since then, it has grown to become one of the largest and most popular parades in the country, complete with marching bands, helium balloons, and colorful, larger-than-life floats that make their way down historic Woodward Avenue each Thanksgiving morning.

This is a huge tip of the hat to the organizers, as this holiday parade is so special to so many people, that it's great they're being recognized.
