If it weren’t for the service of our vets, we wouldn’t have the freedoms that we have today. We owe a massive debt of gratitude to the men and women who lay it all on the line to protect our freedoms.

That’s why it disgusts me that there are so many homeless veterans in America. After these brave men and women return home, they are clearly not given the support that they need from the government, so it’s up to everyday people to try and make things work out for them.

One of those people it’s a lady named Sandy Bauer, who in 2018 helped organize the nonprofit Vets Returning Home. This nonprofit helps veterans regain their independence, helps them find jobs and housing.

Recently, somebody walked right into their Roseville nonprofit thrift store location and stole from a veteran with a smile on their face. The Veterans Thrift Store is located near 12 Mile and Gratiot in Roseville, and this woman, who was caught on camera, walks in, goes to the back and steals a woman’s purse, and walks out.

But it gets worse, because the employee is a veteran, as Veteran Thrift Store and veteran employee Raymond Hendrickson told WXYZ:

Why would somebody want to hurt an organization that literally does nothing but help?

According to  Veterans Thrift Store, Anthony Mancino, a lot of things were taken:

She took the veterans' Bridge Cards, the bus passes, their... cash and the keys to our offices and to our building actually and all the trucks outside of this building, It’s sickening, really. We do nothing but try to help these vets and just to try to take from them is bad.
