A military veteran and businessman John James will be trying to help Republicans gain control of one of Michigan’s Senate seats once again.
James, an Iraq War veteran, first entered the political sphere in 2018 as he won the Republican Primary to face Senator Debbie Stabenow; he ended up losing in the general, despite much praise from leaders on the national stage including President Donald Trump. Gary Peters has been Senator since 2014, when he replaced Carl Levin.
